English Language Day 2026

On April 10, 2026, students from Form 1 to Form 5 celebrated English Language Day through various activities. This event closely aligns with our school’s theme this year, “Learn the truth, love the truth, live the truth.” By giving our students exposure to real-life situations where they can use English, we hope they can learn from genuine experiences, appreciate the language, and apply their language skills more meaningfully.

Form 2 students engaged in a role-play mission with designated characters, practising natural dialogue while completing meaningful English tasks. After the movie, students shared ideas, played “guess the hidden role,” and created movie-review posters to make their experience truly memorable. Meanwhile, our Form 3 students were tasked with identifying the film's key features, techniques, and cinematic elements that contributed to its success. They were also expected to take note of other aspects, such as voice control, and of other skills learned from their second term digital story projects. This event culminated in a character cafe, where Form 3 teachers interacted with students while serving pastries; students had to order food in character, sound and act like one of the characters from the movie, maintain a consistent personality and emotional tone, and speak in English.

The event began with an introduction to the university, followed by the honour of listening to two faculty members share their insights on curriculum design, industry relevance, and exciting career paths and prospects for graduates. Two current students also shared their UTM journeys, covering campus life, academic experiences, and how UTM has been preparing them for the future. It concluded with a campus tour that gave our students a sense of daily routines at the university.
