Sports Day 2013

The primary school Sports Day was held on the 20th of November, 2013 at 08:00 in our campus. The day started with the principal’s opening remarks. Students were excited about the level dance competition. Everyone was dancing happily to cheer for their classmates. In addition to individual athletics, there were also group sports competitions, which required team spirit and cooperation.

The day finished at 12:00 with the awarding ceremony. The principal congratulated all the winners and commended them for their embodiment of the spirit of "friendship first, competition second".

The secondary school Sports Day took place at the Macau Stadium on the 21st and 22nd of November, 2013. On the first day, students gathered at 08:45 at the stadium in their colorful class uniforms. The Parade of Athletes was accompanied by the concert band. Immediately following the parade, student representatives led the anthem and vow. The principal was then invited to give a few opening remarks.

The first round of the cheering competition was the warm up event of the day. F1 to F3 students had prepared hard and well to showcase their well-practiced routines. To better perform their cheering dances, they designed their class uniforms and slogans to represent their creativity and class spirit. Students were ingenious in making use of props and movement to form different characters. Later on, various competitions started in every corner of the stadium. These included the distance running events, the short sprint events and relays on the track, as well as the high jump and long jump events held next to the running track. With classmates cheering, athletes were inspired to do their best in their competitions.

On the 22nd of November, 2013, awards to the winners of the long jump and 1500m races were presented before the second day competitions began. After the ceremony, athletes were back on the field for the 2nd round of competitions. F4 to F6 students cheered enthusiastically and classmates waved their class flags, during the relay final. The day was brimming with happiness and enthusiasm especially with the cheers led by our cheerleaders. The F6 students formed “SRL” – the abbreviation of the school name - as a beautiful ending to two days of fierce competition.

At 16:20, the athlete representatives entered the court again for the closing ceremony. The principal presented the athletic awards to the winners. All students were excited as the champion of the cheering competition and the overall champion awards were announced.  F6 won the cheering competition. F6AC1 was the overall champion of the Category A, while F4S was awarded for Category B, and F2C for Category C. Everyone showed their support with the warmest applause. The Sports Day ended with the concert band playing the final march.
