New Year Around the World

P3 students have been on a joyful journey discovering how New Year is celebrated around the world in their Reading lessons, and the classroom has been buzzing with curiosity and cultural pride. Through stories, videos, and discussions, they explored traditions from different countries and learned to appreciate the beauty of cultural diversity.

To connect global learning with their own roots, students used English to create Spring Festival couplets, expressing warm wishes while honouring cherished Chinese traditions. They also wrote a postcard to a friend, introducing the New Year customs of one of the countries they studied. This gave them a chance to celebrate differences while recognising what makes their own heritage meaningful.

These activities helped students develop a broader worldview, embrace diversity with open hearts, and stay proudly connected to their cultural identity.
