Levels Involved:

Purpose:

  • Students will be able to link major historical events and social developments with contemporary stage productions, understanding how performance reflects and shapes societal values.

  • Through the integration of public speaking and debate, students will develop the ability to articulate reasoned positions on the relationship between the individual and society, learning to listen, persuade, and respond constructively.

  • With an increasing understanding of various cultures and social movements, this course will enable students to embrace diversity, practice empathy, and develop an international mindset as global citizens.

  • Students will be given the opportunity to conduct individual research on a culture, issue, or tradition of their choice, applying skills in forum simulations, evidence-based argumentation, and cross-cultural curiosity.

  • By the end of the course, students will appreciate different performing arts from a new perspective, while also gaining practical skills in debate, public speaking, and collaborative global problem-solving.
