數學大爆炸
Levels Involved:
F4-F6
Purpose:
To enhance students' logical thinking, strategic planning, problem-solving, and mathematical skills (such as probability and resource management) through engaging and interactive board games. The class also aims to foster teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship.
Content:
First Term
Introduction to Logic and Strategy Games: Students will learn the mechanics of popular strategy games (e.g., Splendor, Catan, Ticket to Ride). The focus will be on understanding basic probability, resource management, and long-term planning.
Second Term
Advanced Mathematical and Cooperative Games: Introduction to cooperative board games and games requiring spatial reasoning (e.g., Pandemic, Azul, Cascadia). Students will learn to optimize outcomes, calculate risks, and work collaboratively to achieve common goals.
Third Term
Game Analysis and Class Tournament: Students will analyze the mathematical probability behind their favorite games and participate in a class-wide tournament. There will also be a mini-project where groups design a simple math-based board game mechanism.
