Hight] Tea With A Difference 2006

On the 27th of June, 2006, student class representatives, executives and committee members gathered for one final get-together to mark the end of another busy school year. The Students' Association, together with the administration and staff of SRL English Secondary, play host to this annual event that is more like a symbolic means of thanking these students for having served their schoolmates during the year. This year's High Tea was quite unlike any other held in the past, not only because the students were given tokens and souvenirs instead of the usual snacks, but moreso because it marked the last High Tea which the students would get to spend with their principal, Sr. Barbara. At an informal assembly held in the hall, Sr Barbara thanked the students for their dedication and perseverance while at the same time, giving them words of encouragement and guidance. The students showed their appreciation by giving Sr. Barbara a small book that contained personal letters which they had written to her.

After the assembly in the hall, the students went to their respective activity areas and took part in team-building activities which were organized specifically for this day. Many students commented that the activities were quite good although some could have been improved and, owing to the intense heat of a typical summer's day, many participants longed for a cool, refreshing drink. Nevertheless, the day proved to be another source of inspiration for future executives and class representatives.
